Who are the faces behind the pages of Silver Lining Inspirations?
We
are a middle-aged couple from the Coastal South who feel strongly led to reach out to others with love and encouragement.
We are both all too familiar with feelings of failure and hopelessness. We have both stood among the rubble of shattered
families and homes. We have known the pain of rejection and the betrayal of trusted friends. We have dealt with feeling under-appreciated
and overwhelmed. We each have faced financial disaster, bankruptcy, and divorce.
We struggle daily with exactly
the same issues as you – anger, bitterness, fatigue, financial pressures, pride and stress.
We have watched
as friends and loved ones suffered through depression, addictions, and terminal illness.
One of us continues to
face the pain of being an absentee parent…the other the frustration of watching the children deal with the pain of
being rejected by a parent.
One of us was reared in a loving, Christ-centered home. The other grew up in fear –
actually terror – victimized by daily verbal and physical abuse.
We both have stories that relate to the
moment when all hope was lost, and death seemed to be the most logical answer.
But God is faithful! He promises
to deliver us in our day of trouble if we will call upon Him. “The righteous cry out and the Lord hears them; He delivers
them from all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17) (NIV)
God faithfully delivered each of us from our personal
trials, and then blessed us with finding each other!
We are called to honor Him for our deliverance. "And
call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me" - Psalm 50:15 - NIV. The purpose of Silver
Lining Inspirations is to honor God by encouraging those who are hurting.
We are blessed with the challenges and
opportunities of starting over again; of rebuilding and blending our separate lives into one.
Between the two of
us, we have five children: One is a soldier, two are pursuing their secondary educations, and two are pursuing
their careers! We are also grandparents of a beautiful little girl and a handsome baby boy!
We come from
different denominational backgrounds. We feel there is no right or wrong worship style as long as the Name of our Lord Jesus
Christ is exalted and praised as the One True Savior.
The purpose of this website is to minister with prayers,
empathy, and perhaps even an occasional word of advice and encouragement. Our intent is to offer insight based on our experiences,
and to offer others hope and encouragement during difficult times.
This site offers no judgment or condemnation.
We are ALL sinners! We recognize and acknowledge that we are saved by the grace of a loving and merciful God.
We
don’t pretend to have all the answers. We can only offer you comfort through Scripture, prayer and personal experience.
We will stand firm in our beliefs, giving Scripture the final authority as we offer words of encouragement…and
perhaps admonition.
In His Love, Barb
