Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
|
|
If your desire and aim is to reach the destination
of the path and home of true happiness, of grace and glory by a straight and safe way, then earnestly apply your mind to seek
constant purity of heart, clarity of mind, and calmness of the senses
Grasp every opportunity when you can find the place,
time, and means to devote yourself to silence and contemplation and gathering the secret fruits of silence, so that you can
escape the shipwreck of this present age and avoid the restless agitation of the noisy world.
Simplify your heart
with all care, diligence, and effort so that, still and at peace, you can remain always in the Lord within, as if your mind
were already in the new of eternity.
There can be no greater happiness than to place ones all in Him who lacks
nothing. Cast yourself, all of yourself, with confidence into God and He will sustain you, heal you, and make you safe.

the Great

My kingdom is not of this world.
John 18:36
The great enemy to the Lord Jesus Christ in the present day is the conception of practical work that
has not come from the New Testament, but from the systems of the world in which endless energy and activities are insisted
upon, but no private life with God. The emphasis is put on the wrong thing. Jesus said, The kingdom of God cometh
not with observation, for lo the kingdom of God is within you, a hidden, obscure thing. An active Christian worker
too often lives in the shop window. It is the innermost of the innermost that reveals the power of the life.
We
have to get rid of the plague of the spirit of the religious age in which we live. In Our Lords life there was none
of the press and rush of tremendous activity that we regard so highly, and the disciple is to be as His Master. The central
thing about the kingdom of Jesus Christ is a personal relationship to Himself, not public usefulness to men.

Simplicity is the secret of seeing things clearly
When
the natural power of vision is devoted to the Holy Spirit, it becomes the power of perceiving Gods will and the whole
life is kept in simplicity.

But I am afraid...your mind may somehow be led astray from your
sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (II Corinthians 11:3)

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you.
(John 14:27)
Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind
to Him
We get disturbed because we have not been considering Him. When one confers with Jesus Christ the perplexity
goes, because He has no perplexity, and our only concern is to abide in Him. Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of
difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say, Let not your heart be troubled. --Oswald Chambers

Be yourself with God and present your problems,
the things you know you have come to your wits end over. --Oswald Chambers

For His names sake they went forth. ( III John
7)
The men and women Our Lord sends out on His enterprises are the ordinary human stuff, plus dominating devotion to
Himself wrought by the Holy Ghost. --Oswald Chambers

Be rightly related to God, find your joy there, and
out of you will flow rivers of living water
The life that is rightly related to God is as natural as breathing wherever
it goes. --Oswald Chambers
